I appreciate your interest in a kitten or cat from me. At Excalipurrs our primary interest is in breeding for good health, temperament and type in Maine Coon cats. While we strive to improve the breeds and produce kittens that we believe are approaching the "ideal" look in each breed, we usually have some pet quality kittens in every litter. Frequently it is small things that makes a kitten pet quality such as the ears not being quite large enough or the eyes are the wrong color.

Excalipurrs is a fairly small cattery. We focus our energies into a few litters each year and because we are interested in our babies before and after they leave our house, we are very much interested in placing cats and kittens in homes where there is a good match up in our opinion. Even though there are breed characteristics, each cat/kitten is an individual and is not suitable for every home. Rather than place a cat or kitten in home only to find out later that it wasn't a good fit, we prefer to have a lot of information up front to minimize the chance of a bad fit. Attached is a questionnaire that we request you fill out completely even though you may have already given us some of the information. This enables us to keep organized by having your information in one place. It may feel a little bit like the kitten inquisition but like location, location, location is the key for real estate, information, information, information is the key to trying to ensure a good fit. So feel free to ramble on and on, you won't bore us.

4. How many hours a day will you cat spend outside?

5. How do you feel about declawing?

6. Please list all household members and their ages, please identify who will be the primary caretaker of the cat/kitten?

7. Does anyone in your household have allergies or asthma or other medical condition which may impact your ability to care for your pet? If so, have you verified with you doctor that a cat or kitten will not have a negative impact on this condition?

8. What other pets do you have? Please list breeds and ages, whether they are indoor or outdoor pets, whether they are spayed, neutered or intact, whether they have any medical issues.
