This is the place where the Maine Coon Cats and Oriental Shorthairs reign supreme and the two legged critters live to serve.  The cats deign to cuddle, purr, play and charm without ever forgetting their regal place in life (at least not so as they would admit).

You will find Excalipurrs (Xcalipurrz in CFA) frequently at TICA (The International Cat Association) shows and CFA (Cat Fanciers Association) shows throughout Texas, with occasional jaunts outside the Lone Star State as well. I am also a full MCBFA (Maine Coon Breeder Fanciers Association) member, on the TICA Maine Coon breed committee, and I was the Chairperson of TICA's Legislative Committee from 2004 - 2008.

Although showing is great fun, I cannot imagine life without these wonderful four legged people. Maine Coons are the clowns of catdom though they try to convince you that the Lion King has nothing on them for regalness – don’t let them fool you. They are loving, moderately active cats that love to sit near you though not generally on you as they already have a fur coat of their own. Maine Coons are America’s naturally developed breed and it used to believed they resulted from a cross between a cat and a raccoon - a genetic impossibility however cute a story it makes.

Oriental Shorthairs simply take your breath away with their elegance – if they look familiar it is because they are Siamese dipped in designer paint. The Orientals were developed to bring together all the colors of the cat rainbow, all possible patterns and that elegant Siamese look.  They are very active, social cats that want to know all about your day and want you to listen to theirs.  After a good round of play, cuddle time on your lap or under the covers is a must. These social cats usually thrive with a buddy – and like a good potato chip, it’s hard to stop at just one. Due to work concerns we could no longer maintain 2 breeds, so we no longer breed Orientals but are blessed for the ones that remain to keep us company.

So come on in and meet the Kings, Queens, Heirs to the throne (kittens), and the Knights of the Round Table (alters).  Retired adults available to approved homes will be featured on the Heirs page.
